Further Information
The laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, heating the follicle and damaging it, often destroying it. However, the light must first pass through the skin surface, and if the skin is dark or tanned, the skin itself can be damaged. Two facts are therefore obvious: only dark hair in lighter skin can be treated with a laser, and people with any suntan must wait until the tan has faded.
Permanent results can only be achieved if the structures responsible for hair growth are destroyed, or at least impaired. Research has now shown that the hair reduction by lasers is permanent, especially if the laser is of appropriate strength.
Laser treatment affects only hairs in growth phase. At any time, some hairs are in growth phase and some in resting phase. The proportion varies on different areas of the body. This means that firstly all areas will need more than one treatment, and secondly some areas will need more total treatments for full permanent hair reduction results.
The MeDioStar TM miXt 940 used in our clinic has an extra feature which minimises the risk of a skin burn. The handpiece incorporates a cooling plate which reduces the discomfort of the treatment. The laser treats a 12mm circle of skin every second.
Please do not come with any fake tan or bronzer on your skin as we will not be able to complete your treatment if you have this on. You will need to shave the areas that you will be receiving Laser Hair Removal treatments on before you arrive for your appointment.
Yes we do! We have PayRight available, which allows you to enjoy now and pay later. Chat to our team when you book in and they will be happy to explain this in detail.

Frequently Asked Questions
Laser hair removal treatments should be done every four to six weeks and for approximately six to ten treatments, depending on the individual. If you only require maintenance, this is recommended once every six months.
We suggest that you do not exercise after treatment for 24 hours, as sweat can cause bacteria and infections.
Please only shave, as the root of the hair must be present in the follicle for the laser to work. Waxing and plucking removes hair from the follicles.
The treatment, like all laser treatments, is mildly uncomfortable. It feels like a very brief, hot pin prick with each pulse, and leaves a mild heat sensation for about an hour afterwards. This is not severe. The skin may turn a little red and sensitive. This usually settles within hours.
Lasers have been used on human skin since 1968. No delayed complications have yet been reported or, indeed, are anticipated as the effects of these lasers on skin is well known.
The laser does not produce any UV or short-wave radiation, which are the energies known to cause long-term damage and skin cancer.
An increase in pigmentations is a rare but temporary side effect. Decreased pigmentation is also possible in suntanned or dark skin. Where there may be a risk of this complication, a test area would be performed before full treatment.
