Skin Rejuvenation Adelaide – Which Cosmetic Peel is Right for You?

Skin Rejuvenation Adelaide

If you’re looking for services such as skin rejuvenation in Adelaide, Cosmetic Grade Peels could be perfect for you! Peels work in a number of ways to rejuvenate and hydrate your skin leaving your skin bright, glowing and soft. Peels are a great treatment option for a variety of skin concerns – from ageing skin to acne prone skin. Laser Skin & Vein Clinic have a range of treatments for different skin types.

But first of all, what are skin peels?

Skin (or chemical) peeling is an accelerated exfoliation which involves the application of chemical agent which removes the skin’s outer layer – primarily dead cells – while also stimulating collagen and elastin which firms the healthy layers of skin underneath.

The depth of the peel depends on the strength of the agent used, type of active ingredients and your skin type.

What are some of the benefits of skin peels:
  • Decongests and minimises the size of pores
  • Reduces fine lines
  • Eliminates blackheads
  • Improves elasticity
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Reduces acne and acne scarring

All chemical peels are safe, non-toxic, and leave little to no damage to healthy skin cells

Who can benefit from skin peels?

There are a variety of different peels available – some more intense than others – which suit different skin types and skin concerns. Our qualified skin expert will discuss with you and advise which peel is best suited for yourself. People with some of the following concerns can benefit from skin peels:

  • Acne prone skin and scarring
  • Enlarged pores
  • Pigmentation
  • Ageing skin
  • Lifeless skin
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone
How many treatments will I need?

A skincare consultation is essential prior to application of the peel to discuss the most suitable type for your skin and the recommended treatment amounts. However, on average, most individuals have around 4-6 treatments, which occur approximately every 2-4 weeks. This allows for your skin to heal, renew and create new collagen.

Is there any down time after skin peels?

Down time depends on the type of skin peel you receive – the stronger the peel, the more intense redness and peeling.

It is usual for moderate peels to have redness, inflammation or dry skin which usually subsides between 1 – 5 days after the peel.

However, medium and deeper peels require careful pre and post peel care. Pre-preparation instructions need to be followed to ensure your skin is prepared for the peel. This also lessens any chance of any potential risks. After the peel the redness usually takes a little longer to subside compared to lighter peels.

So, how do I know which peel is best for me?

There are a range of peels available, some which are more intense than others. The choice is based on your skin concern and type. Our experts will book a consultation prior to the peel to talk through which is suited best for you. We have three peels available, all of which suit different types of skin.

It is sometimes recommended to use this peel in conjunction with ageless peels.
