Daily Skin Care Regime

Having great skin takes work. Developing a daily skin care regime makes a significant impact on your appearance. However, you might be at a loss as to what exactly your skin needs on a day-to-day basis to stay healthy and glowing.

The Main Steps Towards Creating a Daily Skin Care Regime

There are four main steps to any daily skin care regime: cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and serums. However, you should also apply sun protection to prevent premature aging from the sun’s harmful UV rays. In most cases, sunscreens are included in moisturizers and makeup, but you should always take the time to read the fine print on your product to make sure that they supply adequate daily sunscreen protection.

  1. Cleansing: Washing your face is the first step to fabulous skin. Ideally, you should cleanse your skin in the morning and night to reduce clogged pores, lift away oily sheen, and relieve dullness. Whatever formula you choose to use to cleanse your skin should never strip the skin of valuable nutrients. The cleanser should only lift away dirt, grime, and excessive oily buildup. Numerous cleansers also exfoliate the skin by lightly scrubbing away dead skin cells to rejuvenate and refresh the skin’s surface.
  2. Toner: Toners are supplements for your skin. They come enriched with alpha and beta hydroxy acids to break away dead skin cells that can clog pores, minimize dullness, and fight sun damage. Hyaluronic acid is another main ingredient in toners that boost hydration. Vitamin E and C are also found in toners. These critical vitamins help fight free radicals that can age your skin. Apply a toner after you cleanse your skin.
  3. Moisturizing: Moisturizing hydrates the skin and locks in the moisture. As you age, your skin loses its ability to naturally hold in moisture, so a moisturizer is a terrific way to make sure your skin stays nicely hydrated throughout the day. Most skin care experts recommend that you use a general-purpose moisturizer that is tailored for all skin types.
  4. Serums: Serums are ideal to fight sun damage and reduce the effects of aging. They come in many concoctions that hold varying degrees of active ingredients. Most serums have hyaluronic acid to seal in valuable skin hydration. Vitamin C is another essential part in serums that reduces dullness and can even decrease dark surface spotting. Retinol, vitamin B3, and peptides are other common ingredients in serums that fight the signs of aging and sagging by stimulating collagen and elastin production. Colloidal sulfur and niacinamide are additives to many serums that help relieve redness, blotchiness, and reduce acne outbreaks.

Using More Than One Home Regime Ingredient

If you want a significant impact on your skin’s appearance, then you might want to consider using more than one serum to target a variety of problems. You could use a day formula in the morning and then apply a night serum formula right before bed. Some people like to smooth on a vitamin C serum over their entire face, but others wish to target spotting only. You should never mix two serums. It is better to use them as individual products.
