The Myths and Facts Behind Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Have you come across an article online about anti-wrinkle injections and don’t know if it’s true? All too often we are faced with false ideas regarding anti-wrinkle injections, in this blog we will discuss the myths and facts behind anti-wrinkle injections.

Myth #1: Injections Are Painful

The most common myth regarding injection is pain. People often associate injections with needles, and needles with pain. However, the needles used for injectable differ to regular injection. The needle is very thin and small, causing a slight tolerable sting.

Depending on a person’s pain tolerance the pain level varies with most people comparing their pain to a sting, quick and minimal. To reduce discomfort, local anaesthetic numbing cream or ice can be requested. Although anaesthetic is rarely used as the injection is not used for deep areas.

Myth #2: Treatment Creates a Fake and ‘Frozen’ Face

This is also another common myth for cosmetic injectables in general. Injection results are based on what the customer desires. Often there may be a few customers which want to achieve the fake face, limiting facial movements and requiring high doses.

However, often lighter doses leave movement and create a natural look. Generally, no one knows an anti-wrinkle injection was done. Most customers are still able to form expressions, although their facial muscles are limited to an extent. Facial expressions including smiling and  frowning will still be displayed.

Myth #3:  Anti-Wrinkle Injections are Dangerous

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for over 20 years, on a number of people with no long term side effects. There have been millions of treatments completed successfully with no side effects and many medical studies conducted, rejecting this myth.

Anti wrinkle injections is a protein, created from botulinum toxin. These injections cause no damage to muscles or tissues, as the muscle is temporarily in a state of relaxation. Treatments last 3-4 months, once this period is over the muscle activity is reversed and is able to contract. Our staff have years of experience and can complete injections safely, causing no harm.

Myth #4: Anti-Wrinkle Injections are Just for Women and Older People

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used for both genders and younger people. Not only do women use anti-wrinkle injections, but more men are beginning to have injections to reduce their wrinkles and increase their confidence. Although men limit themselves to a selective amount of treatments, in comparison to women.

Anti-wrinkle injections are becoming more popular among younger people who want to prevent their youthful appearance. The injection reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and smooth outs of the overall appearance of skin. More and more people are looking after their appearance from a young age, with anti-wrinkle injections used to stop wrinkles from ever appearing.
